    Job Description


    Select Chemistrys Engineering Position will be responsible for supporting the delivery of safe, optimal and environmentally sound operations, using basic technical and analytical capabilities to improve operational performance.

    Seeking a highly motivated, self-starter with a growth mind set and track record of exceptional delivery in a dynamic work environment.

    You will focus on scaling R&D design and formulation to manufacturing and providing subject matter expert direction for technical problem solving for manufacturing facilities.

    The essential job functions include, but are not limited to

    Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our products as our highest priority.

    Develop design parameters for capital projects that directly impact manufacturing and/or operations.
    Chemical and Mechanical problem solving via reaction chemistry and fluid dynamics.
    Relevant experience with troubleshooting PLCs and related instrumentation. Preferred experience with PLC programming.
    Analysis of manufacturing PLC data via historian and engineering software to drive design and operating parameters.

    Working knowledge of relevant standards for mechanical equipment in chemical plant environment including process piping, pressure vessels, and storage tanks.

    Participate in all management of change at facilities.
    Manage and coordinate third party services to monitor equipment conditions and inspections.
    Provide coordination between the Production, Project, Maintenance and Corporate Engineering Departments regarding capital project implementation.

    Represent and/or assist production in matters of evaluation, selection and coordination and control of vendors supplying necessary operating services, consulting services, materials, equipment and other needs of operation.

    Work closely with plant management and safety department to enhance safety, upgrade environmental safeguards, and provide for the overall optimization of process operation.

    Provide ongoing technical assistance to operations including troubleshooting of process operating problems.

    Minimum of an engineering bachelor's degree (Chemical Engineering Preferred).

    Strong interpersonal and communication skills:
    ability to communicate concisely and accurately across an entire organization ranging from upper management to field personnel.
    Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite Excel, Word, Outlook and query tools.
    Experience in a PSM covered chemical manufacturing plant (batch or continuous).
    Experience in capital projects, maintenance, reliability, or related engineering field.
    Ability to prioritize tasks to achieve deadlines in a changing environment.
    Change promoter who can develop and motivate others.
    Hands on attitude to get things done with the ability to manage change to a successful conclusion.

    Physical Demands and Exposures
    This position works inside a climate-controlled environment. The Company will supply adequate training and equipment to perform the functions of the job.
    Monday Friday, 8am-5pm, unless operational tempo dictates otherwise.
    Involves sitting at a desk for extended periods of time while also walking process equipment and plant atmosphere.
    Needs high degree of concentration in a busy area.
    Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
