Summary:
The position/s is in the Department of Health Sciences, Human Performance, and Communication Disorder. This is a full-time, 9-month faculty position. The rank and tenure-status of the position is negotiable based on qualifications.
Examples of Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach a variety of health and physical education courses in the physical education and service programs. (Biomechanics of Exercise, Exercise physiology, and Materials & Methods in Physical Education).
Advise students and serving on Department, College, and University committees.
Perform research, including external funding, and scholarly publications in physical education or related areas.
Perform professional service to the university, community, and profession.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
Minimum Position Requirements (including years of experience, certifications, licenses, etc.):
Earned doctorate in Health, Physical Education or related field
Demonstrated ability and/or interest in working in a multi-ethnic, multicultural environment, documented commitment to excellence in teaching and service.
Evidence of research and grant writing.
Must have experience teaching a wide variety of courses and proficiency in teaching with the use of technology in the classroom.
Must be able to provide positive team oriented interaction with colleagues regarding curriculum and departmental decisions and model energetic and professional demeanor to students.
Candidates with P-12 physical education teaching in a public school setting are preferred.
