    Description

    Chemical, Paper and Biomedical Engineering: Postdoctoral Fellow to explore the use of tissue-engineered ovarian constructs to prevent or reverse osteoporosis. The position will work in the laboratory of Dr. Justin Saul within the Department of Chemical, Paper and Biomedical Engineering. This is a federally-sponsored research project and the work may consist of in vitro cell culture testing, molecular biology analyses, and in vivo testing. The position is available immediately.

    The post-doctoral fellow must aid in conducting and planning research studies in coordination with the principal investigator; analyze experimental data; maintain laboratory notebooks; communicate findings to principal investigator and other project collaborators; participate in project meetings with project collaborators; aid in preparing technical reports; give presentations at scientific conferences; write manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications; aid in preparing grant applications; mentor undergraduate and graduate students; work with other research staff.

    Required: Ph.D. in an area of the biomedical sciences (biomedical engineering, biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or zoology) or a closely related field.

    Consideration may be given to candidates with demonstrated expertise through peer-reviewed publications in one or more of the following areas: biomaterials, cell biology, immunology, endocrinology, women's health. Skills in cell isolation, cell culture, immunohistochemistry, genomics (RT-qPCR and next generation sequencing) and/or rodent models of disease; demonstrated verbal or written communication skills as evidenced by conference presentations and peer-reviewed journal publications; strong communication skills.
