**Job Description**
**Scope of Position:**
Perform Analyst duties for Ocean Cargo Pricing with: Vision, leadership, energy, professionalism and support, in conjunction with the Global Product Group(s).
Maintain adherence to Expeditors policies and procedures while displaying and communicating Expeditors goals and culture.
**Major Duties and Responsibilities:**
**RFQ Coordination**
Communicate with sales and build strategy.
Perform data analysis.
Identify opportunities and challenges
Complete product pricing for RFQs (Request for Quotes).
Present pricing and meet deadlines set by customers and sales/geo on responding to pricing requests.
Track and report the results of RFQs and pricing submissions
**RFQ Execution**
Convert customer formats.
Insert / integrate targeted pricing.
Communicate to the field.
Manage responses.
Audit responses and make cohesive.
Maintain communication per Document Retention Policy (DRP).
Update RFQ capture in a timely manner.
Maintain RFQ tools.
**Analysis of Rates**
Review and analyze carrier rates.
Review feedback from sales/geo on rate competitiveness.
Report results of analysis to Ocean Leadership in branch.
In conjunction with local leadership, work with carriers to keep rates fresh and competitive.
**Rate & Surcharge Maintenance**
Maintain rate databases.
Maintain and distribute General Rate Increase (GRI) and surcharge information.
Maintain and update expiring rate agreements and contracts.
**General Support**
Development of reports.
Provide general support for sales and product pricing.
Provide other general pricing support as specified by the Ocean Leadership.
**Qualifications**
MInimum Qualifications:
High School Degree or equivalent required
Successful candidates must pass a background check
Good computer skills (Word, Excel, and familiarity with PowerPoint)
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Must not require future sponsorship for employment Visa
Must have the ability to work overtime in support of the department needs
Fluent in English, both written and verbal
Ability to multi-task and prioritize throughout the workday while remaining focused and organized
Demonstrated ability to be pro-active in thought and action
Strong organizational skills.
Analytical with a strong attention to detail
Effective interpersonal skills, including proven ability to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
Willing to pitch in and help on last minute projects or assist team members
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Comfortable with numbers and basic mathematical skills
Has a demonstrated strong work ethic, and reliability
Comfortable working in a professional business environment
Must be able to commute to the city of Hawthorne, CA.
Desired Qualifications:
Undergraduate Degree Preferred
Ocean Cargo knowledge, with thorough understanding of pricing; processes and operations.
2 or more years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
