Assistant Manager — Job Overview
We're looking for a dependable, hands-on Assistant Manager who leads from the front and helps keep the store running smoothly day in and day out. This role is about more than opening and closing — it's about supporting the team, driving sales, solving problems on the fly, and making sure every customer leaves taken care of. If you have real leadership experience in retail, a strong work ethic, and a steady, positive attitude, you'll fit right in.
You'll work closely with store leadership to manage daily operations, guide staff, and keep the pace moving in a busy environment. We need someone who can adapt quickly, stay organized under pressure, and isn't afraid to jump in wherever needed — including hands-on work in the bay.
What You'll Do
- Help oversee day-to-day store operations and keep things running efficiently
- Supervise staff, provide direction, and hold the team accountable
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new employees
- Support inventory control, stocking, merchandising, and pricing
- Use our computer systems/CRM and POS to manage sales, inventory, and customer interactions
- Handle cash procedures, register operations, and basic administrative tasks
- Assist with purchasing, scheduling, and meeting sales goals
- Step in to resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally
- Maintain a clean, organized, and productive work environment
- Work alongside the team as needed — this is a hands-on role, not a desk job
What We're Looking For
- Prior management or supervisory experience in any retail environment is required
- A well-rounded leader with a consistent, proactive sales mindset
- Strong reliability — showing up on time and ready to work is non-negotiable
- Positive attitude and team-first mentality
- Ability to adapt quickly and make sound decisions in a fast-paced setting
- Comfortable and proficient with computers (our systems are CRM-based)
- Willingness to learn quickly and follow established service procedures
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask
- Dependable — random call-outs and attendance issues are not tolerated
Training & Physical Expectations
- Within 30 days, you will be expected to be proficient in our oil change procedures and service protocols
- Must be comfortable working in a shop environment and not afraid to get dirty
- Ability to stay on your feet, move quickly, and assist with physical tasks as needed
