    We are partnered with a independent regional corporate bank based here in the United States. As a cooperative, the bank passes their borrowing benefits in the global debt markets on to their members in the form of lower borrowing costs, which are passed on to consumers, businesses and communities. Their core mission is to support housing finance, asset-liability management, and community lending, subsequently helping support affordable housing and economic development initiatives.

    As such, the team is looking to hire an Associate Product Director, MPP (Mortgage Purchase Program) to help lead the program. With an already sizeable and growing portfolio, this MPP team is composed of the CFO, CEO and Head of Operations, and the ideal candidate will be tasked with deciding how to innovate and expand the program. The ideal candidate has experience in the secondary mortgage market on the buy-side, as well as analytical skills.

    This position is hybrid (2 days in-office), and can be based either in the Indianapolis, IN or Detroit, MI office.

    Works under the Senior Director, MPP, collaborating with the Associate Director, MPP Operations, to manage the Bank's mortgage asset purchases from Members. Acts as a liaison with customers, vendors, and other Bank departments. Participates in strategic planning for the MPP and ensures the implementation of approved plans. Also responsible for achieving targets for implementation timelines and developing written policies, procedures, and systems.

    Specific Responsibilities:

    • Assists in developing and administering the Bank's MPP policy, monitoring market developments, and recommending changes.
    • Manages all activities related to the Bank's purchase of mortgage loans through the MPP, coordinating various aspects with other Bank departments.
    • Acts as a liaison with external and internal parties on MPP-related issues, including contract negotiations.
    • Develops and administers operational standards to ensure efficient departmental operations and internal controls.
    • Oversees the development and production of management reports, analyzing activity, profitability, and risks.
    • Identifies opportunities for improvements in the MPP, considering customer needs, competition, and emerging technologies.
    • Represents MPP on committees as designated by the Senior Director.
    • Manages project implementations, including planning, vendor selection, testing, and policy development.
    • Maintains MPP knowledge and serves as a subject matter expert for planned projects.
    • Assists in leading MPP projects across the system as assigned.
    • Assists the Senior Director in contractual negotiations for irregular MPP transactions.
    • Provides regular status updates and reports to Senior Management for each project.
