    Join Our Team as a Locum - Physician - OB Hospitalist in Prestonsburg, KY
    Are you a dedicated OB Hospitalist looking to make a meaningful impact while enjoying flexible work arrangements? We are seeking a highly skilled Locum Physician to provide exceptional obstetric care in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. This position offers a unique opportunity to expand your professional experience, collaborate with a committed healthcare team, and serve a vibrant community. As a vital part of our team, you will help ensure safe, high-quality maternity services and contribute to the growth of our obstetric program.
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Manage approximately 200 deliveries annually, focusing on unassigned (adolescent) and private obstetrics patients.
    • Provide comprehensive obstetric care in a Level 2 NICU environment, including labor and delivery, gynecological surgery, outpatient clinics, and routine patient follow-up.
    • Collaborate with anesthesia providers who oversee daily onsite coverage with 24/7 call responsibilities.
    • Support internal medicine residency rotations through outpatient and inpatient duties.
    • Serve as the primary provider for GYN surgeries, consults, and outpatient visits.
    • Assist in emergency situations as part of a well-coordinated team with employed OBs handling backup coverage.
    Required Skills:
    • Valid medical license in Kentucky or ability to obtain licensure.
    • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
    • Proven experience in labor and delivery, gynecological surgeries, and outpatient women s health.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making capabilities.
    Nice to Have Skills:
    • Prior experience in hospitalist or locum tenens roles.
    • Familiarity with Level 2 NICU protocols.
    • Experience with remote MFM consultation services.
    • Advanced skills in obstetric emergencies and complex gynecology.
    Preferred Education and Experience:
    • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
    • Completion of an OB-GYN residency program.
    • Minimum of 2 years of recent obstetric practice experience, preferably in hospitalist or covering roles.
    Other Requirements:
    • Ability to start on December 31, 2025.
    • Willingness to work in a hybrid onsite and outpatient setting.
    • Active DEA registration and BLS/ACLS certifications.
