    Job Description

    Position: Full-time position starting in the summer
    Salary: $35-$42 per hour
    Location: On-site, self-contained classrooms available for elementary or high school openings

    Summary:
    ProCare Therapy's Educational Department is in search of a dedicated Special Education Teacher with at least 1 year of experience, particularly with autistic students integrated into the general population. This role is based in Custer Park, Illinois, starting in summer 2024 and continuing through the school year. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with paraprofessionals to deliver engaging educational practices to young students. Responsibilities include creating curriculum plans to spark curiosity and exploration, implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and providing guidance to ensure academic success.

    Job Description:
    We are seeking candidates with diverse experience in structured classroom environments focused on behavior management, language development, and sensory support. Duties include working in self-contained classrooms, conducting assessments, facilitating evaluations, honing non-verbal communication skills, and preparing students for the next academic level.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in special education from an accredited college
    • State special education teaching certificate
    • Effective communication and collaboration skills with colleagues, students, and families
    • Previous experience in a school setting is preferred but not mandatory. Recent graduates are welcome to apply
    • Potential for virtual work arrangement
