    The role:

    As a Senior Data Scientist specialized in Climate Risk at UrbanFootprint, you'll contribute to enhancing climate and hazard risk data products. These products aid asset managers and financial institutions in making investment decisions by considering climate hazard risk, community impacts, and physical infrastructure. Leveraging parcel-level mapping of all US properties, these products support decision-making at various scales.

    To excel in this role:

    • Create innovative models to quantify climate impact
    • Lead data science projects from ideation to production
    • Analyze historical weather data for risk assessment
    • Communicate technical information effectively to non-technical stakeholders

    Your background likely includes:

    • Master's degree or equivalent work experience in Earth system sciences or related fields
    • Proficiency in Python and scientific programming
    • Experience with statistical and machine learning models in climate and weather contexts
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills

    Bonus qualifications:

    • Experience with Catastrophe modeling
    • Work with satellite data like LandSat
    • Scaling models in a cloud environment
    • Expertise in geospatial modeling and analysis

    Target salary: $130,000 - $200,000, with bonus and equity opportunities.
