- Lead the structural design, analysis, and testing of mechanical components and systems with a wide variety of material compositions (e.g., metals, composites, additive or other complex multi-material structures).
- Carry out project planning and execution from system-level architecture through detailed design and manufacturing.
- Define requirements and execute design and analysis tasks using proprietary and commercial FEA solvers, analysis systems and databases to predict the structural response of mechanical components and systems.
- Participate in the definition and execution of experiments to validate analytical results.
- Work with other support functions and/or external suppliers to meet project deliverables.
- Prepare and participate in project and technical reviews
- Provide expertise to resolve technical challenges across the organization.
- Participate in technology road mapping and competitive assessment to devise new technology programs.
- Work with internal and external collaborators in developing new project proposals and initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring across the group to grow overall technical capability and product knowledge in technical focus areas.

- PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Applied Mechanics with a strong background in structural design and analysis with a minimum of 7 years of industrial experience or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Applied Mechanics with a strong background in structural design and analysis and a minimum of 10 years of industrial experience.
- Strong technical skills in solid mechanics and finite element methods.
- Extensive experience and high proficiency with commercial FEA packages such as Ansys (including advanced meshing tools and non-linear analysis).
- Extensive experience with product design constraints, manufacturing techniques and material processing selections for mechanical components and systems.
- Experience in vibration-dynamics analysis and testing.
- Experience in conceptual design, build up and validation of full-scale mechanical systems.
- Experience in conceiving, developing, and carrying out experiments and transferring component level tests into full scale hardware solutions.

- Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S
- Experience with structural optimization and commercial codes such as OptiStruct.
- Experience with impact and progressive damage simulations.
- Significant experience with parametric, feature-based geometric modeling, hands-on experience with commercial CAD packages (e.g., NX, SOLIDWORKS, Creo).
- Experience in analysis, fabrication and testing of composite structures.
- Experience with design and optimization for additive manufacturing
