    Description

    Job Title: Junior DevOps Engineer

    Duration: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire

    Location: Remote Position - East Coast Time Zone

    Overview:

    We are on the lookout for a Junior DevOps Engineer to bolster our team, focusing on application deployment, automation, and management on Amazon Web Services. Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IAC), especially Terraform and Cloudformation, as well as in AWS services like Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) is essential. The ideal candidate will possess a solid groundwork in DevOps principles, containerization, and orchestration technologies, particularly Kubernetes.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with development teams to design scalable, automated solutions for deploying applications on Amazon EKS.
    • Set up CI/CD pipelines for streamlining build and deployment processes utilizing tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD.
    • Utilize Docker to containerize applications and manage container orchestration with Kubernetes on Amazon EKS.
    • Assist infrastructure teams in deploying IAC solutions.
    • Monitor and optimize the performance of Kubernetes clusters and associated infrastructure.
    • Implement security measures for containerized applications and Kubernetes clusters.
    • Participate in on-call rotations and address incidents related to production systems.
    • Stay abreast of DevOps trends and technologies to enhance processes continuously.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
    • Proficient in Linux systems administration and networking.
    • Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, Java) and scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell).
    • Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and services like EC2, S3, IAM.
    • Hands-on experience with Docker and preferably Kubernetes.
    • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
    • Keenness to learn and adapt to new technologies in a dynamic environment.
