- Independently or in conjunction with other clinical research staff and/or research nurse, recruits and enrolls research subjects onto clinical research projects according to study protocols. Responsible for screening patients for participation in clinical trials, enrolling patients onto these studies, monitoring protocol implementation, completing required forms and reporting results.
A candidate in this position will be working in a busy clinical research center in the department of Anesthesia, on the critical care team.
The center is staffed by research assistants, coordinators, project managers, statisticians and regulatory specialists under the supervision of the Principal Investigators and the Program Manager.
Our ICU team is engaged in several multi-center trials evaluating interventions for the prevention and treatment of acute lung injury / acute respiratory distress syndrome.
We also have a multitude of smaller projects including studies of organ failure, early mobilization, antibiotic use, and Intensive Care Unit composition.
Each team member is assigned between one and three primary studies, but is cross-trained to work on all trials as needed.
Time is spent working on a variety of projects in all stages of completion, from project planning, to study execution including subject recruitment, to data entry and query resolution.
