    POSITION SUMMARY

    Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Population Health, the Vice President of Population Health Strategy and Innovation plays a pivotal role in leading and managing all facets of the MLKCH Center for Advancing Health Equity. This dynamic position calls for a visionary leader committed to championing health equity and addressing systemic healthcare disparities. This executive role requires a strategic thinker with a passion for social justice, a deep understanding of healthcare systems, and a commitment to creating sustainable change.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Research and Analysis: Oversee research and data analytic projects to expose and explain systemic causes of health disparities in South Los Angeles. Align the work of the Center with the advocacy work of MLKCH.

    Strategic Visioning: Develop innovative strategies to model a more equitable future in healthcare for underserved communities.

    Collaborate in Policy Advocacy: Support efforts to influence policy and systemic changes that result in equitable distribution of healthcare utilizing evidence-based research to inform decision-making.

    Organizational Development: Work with MLKCH leadership to design data-driven interventions and demonstration projects and evaluate their impact. Serve as a key member in the Center's fundraising, primarily through public and private grants and contributions from the MLK health system.

    Healthcare Transformation: Contribute to the national discourse on healthcare improvement, leveraging data and research to inform policy and enhance clinical practices for a healthier America.

    Collaborative Leadership: Engage in strategic collaborations with academic institutions, foundations, and government agencies to advance comprehensive justice in health, social, economic, and environmental domains.

    National Leadership: Serve as a national figurehead in the movement for health equity, showcasing the center's work in overcoming barriers to care and inspiring similar commitments across the healthcare sector.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    A. Education

    Advanced degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field.

    B. Qualifications/Experience

    Extensive experience in healthcare leadership, with a proven track record in health equity initiatives.

    Experience working in safety net hospitals in California strongly preferred.

    C. Special Skills/Knowledge

    Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable strategies.

    Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building consensus and driving collaborative efforts.
