    Program, set up, and machine quality precision parts per specification, using CNC Swiss machines while working under minimal supervision.

    Verifies the operation and the material to be used on each job as directed by documentation or the supervisor. May determine the method and organize the steps.
    Programs and sets up equipment with appropriate tooling. Determines appropriate dimensions by blueprint, proper feeds, and speeds by manual calculation and/or machinery handbooks and charts. Select the appropriate tooling for the procedure.

    Set up and operated Swiss CNC machines and produced parts:
    generally, worked on more complex parts that required a higher skill level and knowledge of all machining operations.
    Monitors run to ensure consistent quality parts are produced; performs troubleshooting to resolve issues; changes tooling as required.

    Uses measuring devices and blueprints to inspect parts for tolerance and visually inspects surfaces for appearance and other potential problems.

    May use Statistical Process Control.
    Improve manufacturing processes by analyzing processes to determine more efficient methods or techniques; improve processes to improve quality.
    Develop statistical process control plans for manufacturing.
    Define process control plan, establish limits, ensure implementation, review results, and determine corrective action.
    Install tooling and set up manufacturing jobs. Perform initial job setup, mount fixtures and install tooling, and analyze and debug the process.
    Follow SOP instructions, run a first article or process verification run, and complete an in-process inspection. Be consistent with the quality plan run part to ensure conformance. Verify the process and process controls. Document the first article. Enter accurate data in MRP software.
    Implement change requests from customers.
    Assist in the quotation process as required. Define process and estimate cycle times, define quality requirements, and identify technical issues and concerns.
    Provide training to other machinists on specific jobs on a general basis.

    Serve as a technical resource for other employees:

    Train the machinist to run specific jobs, provide training on inspection criteria and techniques, and provide generic training to machinists.

    Maintains a safe and clean work area.
    Regular attendance is required.
    Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
    Programming using ESPRIT CNC programming Software is a plus. Requirements 5+ years of Swiss machining work experience.
    Effective communication, both verbal and written.
    Interest in learning and continued professional growth.
    Develop rapport with employees.
    Skilled in computers, CAD/CAM, and CNC manual Swiss programming.
    Knowledge and skill in measuring and inspecting equipment.
    Knowledge and skill in statistical process control.
    Knowledge of quality assurance standards.
    Hands-on experience in programming & setup of CNC Swiss machines.
    Geometric tolerance and ability to interpret drawings.
    Skilled in computer programs such as Excel and Word.
