The Judge Group is seeking a Department Manager for a proteins manufacturing company in the Philadelphia area. The qualified individual will have extensive experience in further processing and tray packaging. He or she will be responsible for maintaining a high production quality facility. In addition, the candidate will maintain a safe work environment. Responsibilities and Requirements to successfully perform this job are listed below.


Responsibilities:
Provides leadership and direction to a group of hourly manufacturing associatesOversees fabrication of product according to established production scheduleEnsures that all processing activities are in compliance with specificationsBalances quality, productivity, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areasAdjusts areas of the production line to accommodate different productsEnsures that proper product is being produced according to scheduleConducts inspections constantly and monitors work area for cleanlinessEnsures effective employee relationsProvides employee coaching and developmentOversees training/cross training of assigned individuals, evaluates performance and initiates discipline when necessaryEnsures that all health and safety policies and regulations are enforcedVerifies labor hours and payroll report accuracyRequirements:5 years

experience as a supervisor in a food manufacturing environmentBeef plant experience is a must (as a line supervisor or in the boning room)Experience working with a diverse group of peopleAbility to maintain high expectations for self and othersDemonstrate a dedication to achievement of resultsAbility to function successfully in a fast paced, changing work environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsSolid problem solving project management, multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
