    NeoGenomics is looking for a Senior Automation Engineer based out of our lab in Aliso Viejo, CA who wants to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow.

    Position Summary:

    The Senior Automation Engineer collaborates with various teams to design, develop, implement, and support automation solutions for new and legacy products. Solution design will incorporate industry best practices and quality by design. The senior automation engineer will also be responsible with evangelizing and implementing the expansion of the automation departments footprint beyond Liquid Handling in the Molecular Modality in their regional purview.

    Core Responsibilities:
    • Creating and enhancing automation solutions to support new product development and legacy solutions.
    • Responsible for collaborating with leadership in defining an automation development life cycle. Including product inception, design, development, testing, and deployment.
    • Servicing and troubleshooting automation platforms. This includes diagnosing issues, performing maintenance, and ensuring the proper functioning of automation solutions.
    • Accountable for estimating work effort, costs, and resourcing requirements for projects. Committing to timelines and meeting them.
    • Authoring validation/verification plans, quality control documents.
    • Reviewing, revising, or creating automation standard operating procedures.
    • Developing and implementing real time quality control measures into automated systems to track automation performance and predict, detect, or mitigate failure modes.
    • Scripting automated workflows on integrated robotic systems and liquid handlers.
    Requirements:
    • 4+ Years experience with full automation life cycle development. Including product inception, Design, Development, Testing, and deployment
    • 4+ years experience with liquid handling system operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance, preferably with Hamilton Instruments.
    • Extensive experience with NGS liquid handling system development preferably with Hamilton Instruments.
    • Experience with automation platforms and techniques beyond NGS & liquid handling.
    • Understanding of high-complexity molecular biology techniques and technologies. Preferably NGS.
    • Experience Designing, developing, and deploying complex automated NGS solutions.
    • Demonstrated experience in successfully integrating 3rd party components into automation setups.
    • Extensive familiarity with Atlassian tools (Bitbucket and Jira) for version control and issue management.
    • Experience working in a regulated environment (CAP, CLIA, FDA)
    • Extensive experience interfacing automation with integrated systems (e.g. LIMS, Bioinformatics platforms, batch record, or similar systems).

    Pay Range (will vary based on location & experience) $95, $154,964.34 Annually, Plus Bonus
