    Job Summary :

    Under the direction of the Associate Dean of Student Affairs and Admissions, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs and Admissions the Associate Director of Admissions & Recruitment will manage the Universitys College of Medicine medical student recruitment, admission, and retention processes.

    The Associate Director of Admissions & Retention will report directly to the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs and will have a dotted-line reporting to the COM Associate Dean of Student Affairs and the Universitys Director of Admissions.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    Understand how to operate a centralized application service.,Oversee, and manage electronic applications.
    Transmit admissions decisions electronically.
    Understand the concept of holistic review of medical school applications.
    Oversee and manage the screening process of medical school applications with the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs and admissions.

    Ensure recruitment and admissions process for College of Medicine align with policies and procedures of the university, while adapting practices to needs of the College of Medicine.

    Ensure that appropriate faculty screening of assigned applications is completed.
    Facilitate and manage of sending out secondary applications.
    Facilitate and manage the process of faculty screening of secondary applications.
    Oversee the process of scheduling interviews with applicants.
    Oversee the logistics of scheduling interviews and assigning faculty and/or staff.
    Collect and process data from interviews.
    Prepare potential candidates for presentation to the Admissions Committee.
    Update applicant admissions actions on AMCAS for each applicant.
    Oversee and manage all Admission Committee meetings.
    Communicate with newly accepted students regarding CDU policies and requirements for admission.
    Plan and execute the CDU Second Look event for newly accepted students.
    Communicate all actions set forth by the CDU Admissions Committee to all applicants.
    Direct the admissions process from point of inquiry through enrollment.
    Provide reports documenting accurate data regarding recruitment and admissions as to ensure and verify that decisions are data driven.
    Ensure that applications are processed promptly and accurately.
    Coordinate admissions functions with the offices of Financial Aid and the Registrar.
    Ensure a smooth transition of student records from Admissions to the Registrar.
    Develop, execute, assess office policies and procedures, as well as monitor the student information system of the Admissions Office.
    Oversee the development and design of promotional literature, display materials and website activities for admissions recruitment.
    Develop, maintain, and execute a communication plan for prospective and admitted students.

    Attend conventions, meetings, and conferences as necessary to maintain knowledge of existing and new admissions and recruitment policies, practices, and procedures.

    Attend sessions relevant to medical school admissions at local, regional, and national AAMC meetings.
    Assess the prior years retention annually utilizing a variety of data inputs.
    Provide reports containing measurable retention performance outcomes for medical students.
    Provide reports on medical student retention/learning/satisfaction data and compare it to internal benchmarks and national/peer institution data.
    Be flexible and available to work on weekends as needed for Admissions duties.

    EDUCATION:
    Regionally accredited masters degree in a related field required or a minimum of 5 years of medical school recruitment and admission experience

    EXPERIENCE:

    Three years progressive admissions counseling, Pre-med academic advising and recruitment experience with a wide range of students for Medical College/School.

    Experience analyzing applicant data including applicant demographics.


    SKILLS:
    Ability to operate and manage a centralized electronic application system (i.e. American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS), WebAdMIT, etc.) and an admissions management system.
    Ability to maintain effective working relationships with diverse/multi-culture faculty, students, staff, and external contacts.
    Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and detail oriented.
    Use of standard office equipment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, MS Word & Excel).Demonstrated writing, editing and proofreading skills.

    Ability to address complex issues utilizing a clear thoughtful manner and to come to a resolution quickly without jeopardizing the event or relationships with people involved.

    Ability to listen carefully to understand, respond, and problem-solve effectively to address concerns and interests of students and campus constituents, guests, vendors, and others, as needed.

    Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

    Compensation:
    $85,000 - $95,000 annually
