Position: Heavy Civil Superintendent
Location: Luling, TX

Job Overview: As the Heavy Civil Superintendent at X-Bow Systems, you will oversee complex civil construction projects within the defense sector, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This pivotal role requires dynamic leadership capable of managing multi-unit construction activities, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and implementing practical solutions to construction challenges. You will drive project success through proactive solutions management, focusing on innovative and efficient construction methods.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Management and Execution:

• Supervise and manage all phases of the construction process, from site preparation to completion, ensuring project milestones are achieved.
• Oversee daily operations on-site, including managing contractors, scheduling, staffing, equipment, and material management.
• Provide regular written status reports to management, including achievements, risks, challenges, and solutions.

Leadership in Solutions Management:

• Proactively address construction challenges by developing and implementing innovative solutions that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Drive a solutions-focused approach among the project team, fostering creativity and adaptability in problem-solving.

Quality Control and Compliance:

• Ensure all construction activities comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
• Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to maintain the highest standards of workmanship and safety.

Stakeholder and Client Relations:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including management and their visitors, clients, engineers, city building officials (CBO) and/or inspectors, and subcontractors.
• Maintain transparent communication, providing regular updates and managing expectations to ensure client satisfaction.

Safety Leadership:

• Champion a safety culture on the construction site, implementing comprehensive safety plans and conducting safety training for all personnel.
• Manage and mitigate risks through proactive solutions management, ensuring a safe work environment for all employees.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in heavy civil construction, with a minimum of 5 years in a superintendent role, preferably with experience in the defense or another regulated government sector.
• Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to oversee large-scale construction projects.
• In-depth knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Proven ability to implement effective solutions and manage complex construction challenges.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Adept at scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation to optimize project efficiency and effectiveness.
• Experience with energetics is a plus, offering valuable insight into specialized construction requirements.
• Emphasis on maintaining underground utility locations. Know how to use an underground utility locator. Make sure drawings are up to date with actual fieldwork.
