Description
Verify and keep records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Operate hand truck to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.
- Apply shrink wrap or banding as necessary.
- Unpack, examine and route incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Receive and process all defective parts returned for replacement or credit.
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Perform all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
- Support the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base.
- Responsible for making arrangements for pick up by the carrier specified on the customer's purchase order.
- Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department manager.
- Responsible for keeping adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in clean and orderly condition.
- Complete any additional duties as deemed necessary by management.
Additional Responsibilities
- Report any work related injuries, incidents or illnesses to the Supervisor immediately.
- Follow all prescribed safety regulations.
- Complete any additional duties as deemed necessary by management.
Experience / Skills
- Forklift experience a plus.
- Ability to read, write and follow written and/or visual aids.
- Ability to use simple math.
- A valid driver's license and good driving record.
