- Maintaining and repairing all mechanical equipment within a facility
- Inspecting, repairing, and conducting overhauls on mechanical drives/motors, pneumatic and hydraulic components, motor control center devices, and conveyor systems. Sizing and specifying suitable products for technical applications and drafting proposals
- Undertaking basic tasks in the machine shop such as grinding, drilling, metal fabrication, welding, and machining
- Executing fundamental installations, maintenance, and modifications of equipment and control systems
- Diagnosing and fixing motor control centers, electro-mechanical drives, and sub-electrical panels using volt-ohm-amp meters
- Supervising all maintenance activities, PM schedules, records, and subcontractors
- Minimum requirement of a high school diploma; technical certification or associate's degree is a plus
- At least five years of experience in a maintenance and/or repair role
- Proficiency in using tools, machinery, and testing instruments employed in the repair and overhaul of plant equipment
- Familiarity with the basic operational principles of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic/vacuum systems and components
- Understanding of occupational risks, safety measures, and inspection techniques for repairing and operating equipment in a food-processing setting
- Capability to interpret and work from blueprints, technical drawings, manuals, and schematics for equipment repair and overhaul
- Willingness to enhance skills and expertise through formal education and practical training programs
- rudimentary knowledge of electrical maintenance involving PLCs and repair
- This role demands physical activities like walking, standing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, seeing, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
- Comfortable working around industrial machinery
- Able to ascend and descend stairs and ladders
- Capable of frequently lifting up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection as required
