- Completes chart audits ensuring accuracy and documenting changes.
- Performs nursing assessments for new patients and updates patient care records.
- Implements corrective actions based on changes in patient's condition.
- Demonstrates accuracy in documenting assessments, interventions, and patient responses.
- Utilizes pain scale to assess patient's pain and documents interventions and progress.
- Coordinates procedures and patient teaching for pre-op and post-op care.
- Maintains open communication with departments, agencies, patients, and families.
- Participates in community health screenings and events sponsored by the Cancer Center.
- Responsible for reporting safety incidents, attending safety training programs, and ensuring a safe work environment.
- Stays compliant with regulations, company policies, and completes required training.
- Stays current on oncology practices.
- RNs hired on or after 7/1/2016 must graduate from a BSN program within 6 years of hire.
- Existing Staff RNs hired before 7/1/2016 are encouraged to pursue a BSN degree.
- Active, unrestricted Arizona RN License or valid compact license - Required
- BLS (American Heart Association) - Required
- Medical Oncology: ACLS - Required
- Various certifications/education specific to the field of employment are preferred or required.
- Minimum 1 year of oncology experience - Required
- Minimum 3 years of acute care nursing experience - Preferred
- Proficiency in using computers and software programs is essential in today's healthcare environment.
