THE FOCUS IS YOU:
We are looking for a Tax Senior Staff Accountant in the Estate, Gift, and Trust Practice in the Great Lakes Region.
The Estate, Gift and Trust Senior Staff will work closely with Senior Accountant to focus on trust, estate, gift, private foundation, and personal tax compliance for clients.
The Senior Staff will simultaneously conduct multiple engagements while maintaining contact with clients.The Senior Staff will display technical and communication skills, and judgement essential for dealing with clients.
WHAT YOU WILL DORegular duties include (but are not limited to):Grasps concepts quickly and demonstrates mastery of basic estate, gift, and trust technical skills, as well as related knowledge of necessary systems and proceduresProactively demonstrates a willingness to learn and perform more complex skills and projects on a continual basisMakes well-thought-out decisions and considers all facts prior to making final conclusionsAsks appropriate questions and requests supervision when in need of assistanceFollow regulations and professional ethics of the standards bodies appropriate to discipline, including AICPAKeep current on all professional pronouncementsDevelop proficiency in use of all technology necessary to performance executionMaintains designated chargeable hours for the year (determined by Geography & Discipline leaders)Ensures quality control procedures are being executed under direction of engagement managementMaintains positive client relationshipsResponds timely and accurately to internal team and client requestsWorks accurately, efficiently, and with organization and detail-orientationWorks effectively within given budgetary parameters; assists new associates in prioritizing and managing their workloadAppropriately communicates to engagement supervisor difficult situations encountered on engagementsPerform thorough self-review of all work prior to submission to supervisor
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Experience1-2 years in relevant positionPublic accounting or other professional services environment preferredEducationMinimum Bachelor's degreeLicense / CertificationMust maintain required CPE credits annuallyCPA a plus, but not requiredLegal / ComplianceMust complete acknowledgement of Independence Guidelines and Ethical Standards documentGovernmental engagements require ability to obtain a security clearance from the United States government
