    About Presentation High School

    The Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) will lead the development and implementation of proactive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives that support Presentation's mission, vision, and annual DEI action plan.

    The director will lead the development of a vision and effective strategy that champions the importance and value of a diverse and inclusive school community and environment.

    Contribute to schoolwide planning and implementation of initiatives to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging at Presentation.

    Partner with the Executive Leadership Team and HR Director to create, implement, and monitor initiatives designed to ensure equitable treatment of students, faculty, and staff and promote the school community as a place of inclusion, equity, and multiculturalism.

    Lead an annual Multicultural Week to celebrate diversity, equity, and inclusion and provide formation opportunities to students, parents, and faculty/staff.

    Oversee and work closely with student affinity group moderators and student leaders to ensure their successful development, active leadership in the school community, and the development of opportunities for collaboration within and between these groups.

    In collaboration with the HR Director, serve as a resource, and offer support and coaching to faculty, staff, and administrators on issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

    Develop and administer professional development for school leadership, faculty/staff, parents, volunteers, and students in collaboration with the Educational Leadership Team to promote cultural understanding and a climate of equity and inclusion.

    Conduct an assessment of Presentation's inclusivity and multiculturalism through community engagement and the NAIS Assessment of Inclusivity and Multiculturalism (AIM), present findings to the leadership team, and recommend policy and procedural changes to inform Presentation's annual DEI action plan.

    Engage students in diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives through the establishment of a Student Diversity Awareness Board.

    Maintain specific support structures and systems, such as SEED groups, a BIPOC group, and Anti-Racist White Affinity group to foster a space for learning and community building.

    Consult, as needed, on complaints related to discrimination and harassment complaints filed by students with the Dean of Student Wellbeing and Safety, Dean of Students, and Administration.

    Respond, as needed, to microaggressions and bias-related incidents with restorative practices in partnership with the Dean of Students and Dean of Student Wellbeing and Safety.

    attend conferences and professional meetings in order to remain current with diversity and inclusion issues that may affect the school.

    Develop and maintain a network with other DEI coordinators and external cultural resource organizations.

    degree in a related field; Relevant experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion, in a school setting strongly preferred.

    Total resonance with the mission, vision, and values of Presentation High School and the Catholic education tradition including a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

    Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with a wide-ranging audience, including leadership, faculty/staff, alumnae, students, parents, volunteers, media, and external stakeholders.

    A willingness to be an active, enthusiastic member of the Presentation community.
    Deep empathy and joyful orientation towards equity and inclusion work.
    Ability to work well with students, colleagues, parents, and other community members.
    Available and willing to work co-curricular events, including overnight field trips.

    Considerable time is spent at a desk using a computer terminal
    May be required to travel to other buildings on the campus
    May be required to attend conference and training sessions within Bay Area or in- or out-of-state locations
    Typical office environment with frequent interruptions.
    Mostly indoor office environment.
    Time spent throughout campus documenting activities.
