    Purpose :
    The MIG and TIG welder is primarily responsible to perform GTAW of mild steel, stainless steel & Aluminum. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring products meet our quality standards regarding assembly specifications.


    Essential Functions :

    • Receives instructions, prints, and work orders for the job
    • Plans details of working procedures and tools and material requirements
    • Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded
    • MIG & TIG weld with no defects
    • Fit and weld assemblies per job instructions and drawings
    • Builds up worn or defective surfaces.
    • Properly use fabrication shop hand tools (grinders, drills, air grinders, etc)
    • Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly
    • Monitors supplies (gas, weld tips and grinding disks)
    • Perform necessary quality inspections to ensure that parts meet guidelines
    • Conduct operations in a manner that promote safety. Compile with OSHA and MDSD Standards.

    Requirements:

    Requirements :

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • AWS Certification desired
    • 2+ years previous welding experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Ability to MIG & TIG weld - mild steel and 439 & 304 stainless steel
    • Must be able to adjust the welder in order to get a quality weld
    • Ability to read blueprints
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
    • Analytical and problem solving skills
    • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts desired
    • Compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies and procedures
    • Attention to detail
