job summary:
A Senior Procurement Associate is needed for one of the world's largest suppliers of aerospace and defense products in the Winston Salem, NC area. This role entails efficiently procuring materials to meet build and test requirements, managing procurement activities, supporting process improvement initiatives, and ensuring timely delivery while adapting to an intense environment in an Engineering Development Lab.

responsibilities:

Manage procurement activities of assigned SOWs and support leadership process improvement initiatives.

Create and establish all purchase orders.

Achieve personal monthly vendor on-time delivery targets.

Manage Ariba system requirements as needed.

Contribute to team and operational meetings to communicate risks and opportunities.

Complete necessary training programs and company-sponsored requirements.

Update EDL SOW SharePoint Dashboard continually with new information and maintenance of all SOWs.

Conduct competitive supplier bids and provide risk assessment of best supplier sources for the assigned SOW. Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline plus 3 years of relevant purchasing experience, or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline.

In the absence of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience is required.

strong ability to manage unreasonable demands by managing multiple priorities to maximize lead time, costs, service, and quality. Preferred Experience:

Experience with leading or supporting projects, kaizen, and other continuous improvement project initiatives.
