    Supply Chain

    Manager at our Corporate office in

    Richmond, Virginia .

    This position will oversee and manage our Consumer Products division raw material inventory, product specifications, product pricing, and packaging.
    Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence.

    As the successful candidate, you will be expected to monitor, report and analyze raw material inventory and usage for the Consumer Products Division to ensure that operations have enough materials for production and ensures new products are quoted accurately based on the product specifications and raw materials used.

    Your additional responsibilities as Supply Chain Manager will include:
    Works closely with production, sales, logistics and raw material vendors to ensure that raw materials are readily available for product manufacturing
    Develops and drives strategies to optimize supply chain efficiencies and inventory availability
    Negotiates pricing and purchases new raw materials qualified by product development
    Analyzes product requirements, new and existing raw materials and raw material inventories
    Manages relationships with raw material vendors and ensures materials are available as needed
    Managing inventory for new product launches, managing of disposition of slow moving and obsolete finished goods
    Knowledge of import processes, clearing and customs.
    Collaborates with sales and customer to determine demand forecasts
    Oversees and supports team of Inventory Control and Costing Analyst as well as Consumer Customer Service Representative and Packaging Engineer
    Quotes and updates pricing based on product specifications and raw material needs
    Supports consumer products manufacturing plants with raw material inventory issues and pricing needs
    Reports on sales and inventories for Senior Management
    Works in SAP to create POs, run costing and quoting transactions, material set up and maintenance transactions, EDI error processing and other relevant transactions
    Ensures products meet safety standards by initiating the Consumer Products Safety Commissions process
    Maintains report of obsolete materials
    Supports sales, marketing and compliance with Consumer Products related questions
