    Job summary

    We arelooking for a qualified and experienced GP Practice Nurse to join our team. Thesuccessful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursingcare to patients with diabetes, as well as working with other members of thehealthcare team to provide a comprehensive and coordinated care plan.

    Key Responsibilities

    Provide basic and higher levels of nursing care as needed forpatients.

    oTo provide care for minor injuries, dressings, including pressurebandaging and higher level wound assessment, care and dopplers, liaisingdirectly, where appropriate with community and secondary care counter-parts,escalating to a GP as necessary.

    oTo do cervical cytology sampling, immunisations as outlined bynational programmes and local guidelines, working closely with the nursing,clinical and admin team to create systems to identify patients who are in needof such services and promoting the service hard to reach patients.

    oTo support the annual flu campaign and other mass populationvaccination programmes.

    Main duties of the job

    Qualifications and Experience required.

  • Registered Nurse.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to use computer systems.
  • Ability to carry out audits, systematic reviews, and inspections, documenting them appropriately and presenting findings to the practice.
  • RGN Qualification
  • Cervical screening training
  • Immunisations training and influencing parents in their importance
  • Family planning training
  • Higher level wound management training
  • Qualified to undertake all usual primary care tests & investigations including Phlebotomy, ECG, ABPM, urinalysis etc.
  • If not holding the qualification, willingness to undertake LTC training
  • If not holding a training qualification interested in undertaking one in the future.
