    Description
    This position is responsible for welding various steel components using MIG. Must be able to set up the welding machine and apply proper welding techniques as required by the task.

    Welder capable of welding aluminum and stainless components a plus.8-10hour work daysResponsibilities:Plan welding by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, and drawings.

    Verify welding machine setting to apply the appropriate welding on the given assembly as outlined by the welding?s symbols.

    Set up all components for the weldment assembly and apply the proper clamps and process to ensure the weldment will not be out of tolerances after welding.

    Set up the weldment in a manner that most of the weld is done in flat position.

    No welding out of position is allowed unless the welder is certified in that position or approved by immediate supervisor.

    Follow up on priority tasks as outlined by the immediate supervisor or Director of Operations as needs arise.

    Communicate issues with welding machines or weldment to immediate supervisor to ensure safety, equipment, and resources are kept to the highest standard.

    Review the weldment process with immediate supervisor to ensure the weldment will be made to engineering prints.

    Consult with immediate supervisor or engineering department on corrective action for components or weldment that are not consistent with engineering prints prior to making changes or completing the assembly.

    Conduct in process inspection and ensure parts produced meet the engineering tolerances as outlined on engineering prints.

    Effectively clean welding station at the end of shift; ensure all work areas are free from debris; clean welding table and welding machines as needed.
