    Position Title: CNC Machinist - Setup/Operator

    Department: Machine Shop

    Location: Fenton, MO

    Reports To: Production Supervisor - Machine Shop

    Classification: Hourly - Non-Exempt

    Typical Hours: 1st Shift - (Monday - Thursday 5:00am - 3:00pm)

    Position Summary:

    Seeking a skilled individual for the role of Set-Up/Operator CNC Machinist, responsible for machining components using a variety of CNC lathes and mills while ensuring adherence to documented procedures, particularly safety protocols. The position involves maintaining the quality of produced parts and assisting in the training of personnel. Diagnosis, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks are integral to the role. Essential tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) are mandatory for safe and efficient operations.

    Essential Job Duties:

    • Ability to set up, operate, and adjust various machines
    • Utilization of precision measuring devices
    • Working autonomously from drawings with minimal supervision
    • Familiarity with G and M Codes
    • Tool setting and sharpening skills
    • Troubleshooting, setting speeds and feeds, and undertaking minor repairs
    • Maintaining quality standards for parts produced

    Required Experience/Skills:

    • 2-3 years minimum experience in CNC machining
    • Proficiency in mathematics, reading blueprints, and technical documents in English
    • Ability to monitor machine indicators and use precision measuring devices
    • Detail-oriented with multitasking capabilities
    • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn new machine maintenance skills

    Desired Experience/Skills:

    • Hands-on approach with strong mechanical aptitude
    • Familiarity with HAAS, Okuma, and/or MAZAK CNC machine centers
    • Experience with CNC lathes

    Work Environment

    • Capability to lift 35lbs. regularly
