- Invasive species identification and control through herbicide application and/or physical removal
- Native seeding
- Native plantings
- Installation of erosion and sediment control features, and riverbank and riparian restoration.
- Based on applicant's experience the performance of these tasks may include operation of tools and equipment such as chain saws, brush saws, herbicide sprayers, trucks and trailers, and skid loaders.
- Bachelors or Associates Degree in natural sciences (, ecology, geography, biology, etc.)
- New York State Driver's License
- Construction experience
- Ability to drive large trucks, tow trailers, operate small to heavy equipment
- Ability to identify invasive plant species common to western and central New York
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to walk all day over rough terrain
- Ability to travel regularly
- Willingness to obtain a New York State pesticide applicator license

LaBella is currently seeking an Environmental Restoration Technician for our Environmental Division in our Ballston Spa office. Starting compensation for this hourly, non-exempt position is $16 to $18 per hour with potential overtime opportunities during peak seasonal times. As part of our Ecological Construction and Restoration Program you will be part of a growing team providing invasive species management, habitat rehabilitation and wetland and stream restoration services for private and public sector clients.
