- The successful candidate will manage the assigned elements of a construction project to assure quality of the contractor's compliance with the plans and contract documents, manage project inspection and technician personnel/staffing and serve as Client's representative.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or similar degree specializing in construction/engineering management
- 7+ years of experience in the management of roadway, facilities and/or infrastructure construction projects, preferable VDOT experience
- Working knowledge of VDOT, DDOT and/or MDSHA Road and Bridge Specifications, Road and Bridge Standards, Construction Manual, and Inspector Manual
- Ability to learn new computer software and databases, i.e. Smartsheet, Box, TEAMs
- Considerable knowledge of roadway, structure, traffic engineering, utilities construction methods, procedures, practices, plans, specifications and contracts, materials used and performance, environmental, legal and safety responsibilities related to construction of transportation facilities
- Registered as a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) through the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) or similar Construction Manager Certifications preferred.
- VDOT, DDOT or MDSHA construction inspection experience including knowledge of pipeline and utilities construction methods, materials, standards and specifications.
