    Position Summary:

    Coperion is looking for a Project Engineer to join our team in Houston, TX. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for performing work that crosses the boundaries between engineering and project management. The Project Engineer will act as technical lead on the project or part of the project, being a key customer and supplier contact. Depending on size and type of project assigned, may have partial or overall project responsibility for technical, commercial and project management.

    Work You'll Do:

    • Serve as key customer contact for all technical and commercial issues.
    • Review and understand customer specifications and Coperion's offer to the client.
    • Organize the structure of the project based on internal and customer guidelines.
    • Categorize equipment, manpower, other project budget and ensure costs are within budget.
    • Prepare financial projection on regular basis and inform management on the progress and projection of the project
    • Organize and lead internal and customer kick-off meetings
    • Prepare project specifications and technical datasheets
    • Understanding and prepare Process flow diagrams, Piping and Instrumentation diagrams, plant and piping layout drawings, piping isometrics. A designer / draftsperson may assist in CADD
    • Other duties may be assigned
    Team:

    You will be a part of a team of approximately 15 project managers, engineers and designers and you will play supporting or lead roles in projects.

    Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in mechanical/chemical engineering or related
    • 3+ years of experience in project engineering with chemical plants
    • Ability to read and understand blueprints and mechanical drawings
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Good written and verbal communication skills
    • Good time management and organizational skills
