    Description

    Summary:

    Our growing trucking company is seeking an experienced Director of Dedicated Operations who can lead our dedicated fleet and yard operations. The Director of Operations will be mainly responsible for leading their direct reports, maintaining a high level of driver interaction, collaboration with safety, and training to help onboard new drivers/contractors/employees. In addition, the role will be focused on maintaining standard operational metrics; including; asset utilization, driver retention, service performance, and safety awareness. The ideal candidate for this position possesses proven leadership skills, as well as a strong ability to problem solve and make sound decisions that encourage corporate growth.

    Additional Responsibilities
    • Improve the business processes for the department through analysis and collaboration
    • Get involved in Long-Term business planning at the managerial level
    • Collaborate with department manager to develop performance, execution, and growth plans
    • Analyze the performance of the department, make recommendations to improve, and implement said improvements
    • Act as responsible individual for department with regards to service & safety performance
    • Other duties as assigned
    Qualifications

    Required Skills
    • 5+ years' experience in transportation sector
    • 3+ years' experience in leadership role
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Effective decision-making skills
    • Experience writing business plans
    • Intermediate user ability for Microsoft Excel

    Education and/or Experience

    Bachelor's Degree or 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Language Skills

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

    Computer Skills

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of TMW Database software, Microsoft Excel and Outlook knowledge.
