Description
A Camp Counselor role is available at ESY, supporting students' learning goals during the summer program. Responsibilities include working with students both in groups and individually, aiding with lesson plans, tracking goals, and addressing student issues under the guidance of the Head Counselor.
This position reports to the Director of Special Education and offers a stipend of $1000 for the program duration.
1. Pennsylvania State teaching certificate at the appropriate level (elementary, middle, or high school) or Paraeducator status.
2. Demonstration of professional attributes for effective student and community interactions.
3. Previous experience as a classroom teacher or paraeducator required.
4. Ability to adapt to varying learning environments.
5. Attendance commitment to all ESY events.
6. Effective communication skills with students, parents, and Coordinators.
7. Upholding high standards and integrity.
1. Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and abilities to support students' learning goals.
Clear and concise communication abilities, orally and in writing, meeting confidentiality requirements.
1. Demonstrate regular attendance and punctuality.
2. Assist Head Counselor with curriculum administration.
3. Implement effective instructional lessons in specified subjects.
4. Execute student-specific plans for behavior, academics, and health.

Support creating a conducive learning environment using differentiated instruction strategies.
6. Maintain accurate records in compliance with regulations.
7. Communicate effectively with Head Counselors on student progress and issues.
8. Collaborate with students, colleagues, and administrators.
9. Promote positive school-community relations.
10. Adhere to state laws, school policies, and regulations.
11. Uphold high ethical standards and student information confidentiality.
12. Complete assigned duties and responsibilities.
13. Perform any other required tasks.
Physical demands, work environment factors, and cognitive functions must be met to fulfill this role.
Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and verbal communication. Occasional lifting up to 20 pounds. Vision requirements include close and distance vision.
