    Job Description

    The System Engineering Research Center (SERC) is looking for a creative full stack developer to join our small, high performing team. This role offers the right candidate the opportunity to contribute to effective operations within a research environment and a wide variety of opportunities to work on unique projects, developing POCs, requiring out-of- the-box thinking. The selected candidate will have the desire and ability to work in a small collaborative team to achieve organizational goals while building an innovative culture. The SERC team members work independently, owning their own projects, and collaboratively as a team. The scope of work encompasses several websites, with a focus on the SERC, AIRC, and Capstone Marketplace.

    Responsibilities

    Demonstrate strong technical skills, specifically with architectural and development patterns
    Participate in the overall architecture, design and technical oversight of complex business initiatives
    Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code
    Assist in developing applicable methodologies, tools, approaches, points of view, thought leadership and accelerators
    Interface with the executive team to define requirements, recommend solutions and ultimately implement per cost, scope, and schedule
    Provide advisory support on complex tasks and project supervision
    Design and own component architecture, development, and deployment, incorporating leading practices for a portfolio
    Work with communications team and Executive leadership to develop strategy roadmap and feature releases
    Maintain awareness of federal/government compliance issues (i.e.: Section 508 / FedRamp)
    Articulate alternatives in terms of cost, benefit, and risk where multiple solutions exist and propose technical project plans
    Perform technical quality assurance audits
    Collaborate with communications team through all phases of the technology lifecycle, including requirements definition, architecture design, and conversion and testing both internally and client facing
    Develop long-term relationships and networks both internally and externally
    Demonstrate working knowledge of industry wide technology trends and best practices
    Technical Skills

    Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
    Understanding of architecture and design across all systems
    Bachelor's degree and approximately 4 years of related work experience
    Prior industry experience preferred
    Web fundamentals - HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
    Front-end (CSS) frameworks like Foundation or Bootstrap
    Front-end web design (UI/UX)
    JavaScript frameworks like Angular, React, or Ember etc.,
    JS-based build tools like Grunt, Gulp, and Bower
    NodeJS, PHP Laravel, WordPress, Python Flask, Django
    MongoDB, MySQL
    API design and development
    Knowledge of AWS (EC2, Lambda, S3, Cognito, SES, Elastic Load Balancers etc.)
    Git & GitFlow
    DevOps & CI/CD pipelines
