• Pine Ridge HospitalThe 45 bed Pine Ridge Hospital, serving a Lakota Indian population of more than 17,000, is the largest in the Great Plains Area.

A 16 physician staff sees medical, obstetrical, pediatric, and surgical patients. The facility located in Pine Ridge, South Dakota, includes full service general surgery, an obstetrical ward, and dental. Kyle and Wanblee Health Centers and two health stations (Manderson and Lacreek) operate within the Pine Ridge Service Unit.

607 Indian Health Road, Pine Ridge, South Dakota 57770MLT/CLS RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to) The Medical Lab Technician shall cover the range of routine and STAT testing on blood, urine, and other body fluids.

Collecting, transporting, processing, and evaluating specimens for all lap sections. The Clinical Laboratory Scientist shall perform clinical chemistry and toxicology on automated and semi-automated instruments. Storing and preparing reagents, standards, and calibrators. Maintaining, calibrating, cleaning, and effecting repairs of laboratory equipment and instrumentation. Documenting those functions and informing supervisory staff of any problems encountered. Preparing, testing, recording, and interpreting quality control materials. Taking corrective action for out-of-control results, and immediately notifying supervisory staff of any problems encountered. Testing, verifying, and reporting patient test results in accordance with stablished protocols. Recognizing and responding to indications of malfunctions in testing and reporting. Immediately evaluating current test results to available prior test results for acceptability. Reporting critical results in accordance with established protocols.
MLT REQUIREMENTS Must have twenty-four (24) months as a Medical Technician with Generalist experience.

Must have an associate's degree in Medical Technology or one of the Biological Science (Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, etc.) from an accredited college or university.

Must have certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP)

• American Medical Technologist (AMT).
