We are seeking a highly talented AC/DC circuit Subject Matter Expert II for an immediate full-time position to support the Advance Electronic Systems (AES) team in Virginia Beach, VA. The candidate will supervise teams performing installs, maintenance, repairs, overhauls, troubleshooting, and the tests of electrical, electronic, and/or mechanical equipment and related devices. The position is to be worked on location.     Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Supervise team members and perform required integration or installation of systems equipment, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and use of test equipment as required.
    • Train junior employees on troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and operating pumps which resulted in an increase in production.
    • Responsibilities will include troubleshooting of field equipment failures, documentation of maintenance and troubleshooting procedures, and performance of preventative maintenance and troubleshooting or assessment of electronic equipment.
    • The ability to work alone with little supervision, receiving technical guidance from project managers.
    • Work and perform at government and contractor facilities where awareness is critical, and the highest level of safety and caution must be exercised to eliminate risk.
    • Working alongside engineers to design, build and test solutions to a variety of technical problems.
    • Preparing technical reports, documentation, and manuals related to engineering projects.
    • Analyzing operations and offering suggestions for improvement.
    • Perform research, writing, editing, and revising of Navy technical documents.
    • Perform field validations of various watercraft and equipment.
    • The ability to read and comprehend preventive maintenance documents and procedures.
    • Ability to travel CONUS/OCONUS

    Basic Qualifications:

    • An associate degree in Engineering Technology or related field; Technical School; or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications; or four (4) year electronics apprentice program with three (3) years of practical application experience in HF/VHF/UHF installation/Troubleshooting.
    • Formal electronics training which includes Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors.
    • US Driver's license and Passport Required

    Desired Qualifications:

    • NAVSEA Certified in Fiber Optic Termination (Preferred)
    • Tower Climber Certified (Preferred)

    Clearance Requirements:

    • Current and Active secret security clearance.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
    • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
    • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
    • Often positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet.
    • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
    • May be asked to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment.
