    Job Summary:
    We are seeking a Corporate Counsel to join our Legal team.

    The Corporate Counsel will work on litigation and disputes to resolve claims by conducting an initial evaluation of the claim's merits, handling the discovery process, and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve disputes.

    The Corporate Counsel will also work on employment matters, conduct investigations, ensure Mercury's compliance with laws, and assist the Legal team with other projects.

    This role is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer to gain experience working in-house on complex projects with a great team of friendly and experienced lawyers.


    Job Responsibility:

    • Litigation and Disputes. Handling litigation and legal disputes by evaluating claims, conducting discovery, supervising outside counsel, and recommending strategies to resolve disputes.
    • Employment. Working with Human Resources and business leaders on employment matters, including hirings, performance management, terminations, reductions in force, employee claims, policies, and compensation and benefit plans.
    • Investigations. Conducting internal investigations regarding potential violations of laws, policies, contracts, and other issues.
    • Compliance. Coordinating with other internal functions to ensure compliance with laws by providing advice and creating policies and procedures to ensure proper compliance.
    • Other Matters.
    Assisting the Legal team with other projects, such as:


    • Contracts,
    • Strategic transactions,
    • Environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting,
    • Intellectual property issues and managements,
    • The ethics program,
    • Corporate legal entity maintenance of our subsidiaries, and
    • Other matters as assigned.

    Required Qualification:

    • Juris Doctor from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association.
    • Admitted to state bar where the person will work.
    • 3+ years of experience practicing law, either in a law firm or in-house.
    • Understanding of U.S. laws relating to litigation, employment, contracts, and other matters.

    Worksite location options:

    • Onsite: 2 days per week (Tues & Thurs with flexibility)
    • Hybrid: 2 days onsite and WFH the remainder of the week (9/80 schedule)
    • Remote: 100% WFH is not authorized for this role based on needs of business
    • Commutable to any of the Mercury facilities in:
    • VA (Chantilly)
    • CA (Torrance)
    • MA (Andover)
    • AZ (Phoenix)
    • NJ (West Caldwell)
    • NH (Hudson)

    • Pro-active, self-motivated and highly organized, with experience managing multiple projects and completing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Business-focused approach to providing counsel to internal clients that balances appropriate legal risk assessment with advancement of the overall goals of the company.
    • Complex judgments, in-depth analysis (business and legal), interpretive thinking and the ability to independently develop innovative solutions.
