    Introduction: Outside The Box, LLC is a General Contractor specializing in construction and renovation work for the federal government.     POSITION SUMMARY:
    • The QC Manager will supervise and inspect three phases of control and tests; Preparatory Phase, Initial Phase, and Follow-up Phase. QC Manager will conduct weekly preparatory, safety and coordination meetings. Highly detail-oriented individual is required for the position. QC review of all submittals to ensure satisfactory requirements are met in compliance of contract specifications and design drawings. Ensure project quality control monitoring & tracking through compliance with all corporate, local, provincial and federal workplace laws, rules and regulations.
    • Responsible for avoidance reduction and control of costs associated with workplace accidents and injuries. Perform as an internal resource and consultant to management and supervision in identifying and alleviating workplace hazards.

    • Current Corps of Engineers Quality Control Certification preferred.
    • Experience with Corps of Engineers RMS preferred.
    • Prepare daily reports for submittal to the Government.
    • Prepare quality and safety meeting agendas and conduct meetings.
    • Perform daily quality control inspections to ensure all work is in compliance with the project plans and specifications.
    • Assist Site Safety Officer in maintaining a high level of safety awareness and performance at company work sites.
    • Responsible for overseeing compliance with all Corps of Engineers Safety Guidelines.
    • Administration in accordance with Corps of Engineers guidelines pertaining to company operations.
    • When possible, accompany Government inspectors on inspections at company work sites.
    • Recognize that subcontractors are the company's responsibility when on our work sites.
    • Travel to job sites is required.
    • Maintain project as-builts.
    • Prepare & submit project closeout documents in accordance with the plans and specifications.
    • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
    • Direct testing activities throughout production cycles.
    • Monitor performance of quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
    • Oversee workers including supervisors, inspector, or field workers engaged in construction activities.
    • Analyze quality control test results and provide feedback and interpretation to management or staff.
    • Communicate quality control information to all relevant organizational departments, outside vendors, or contractors.
    • Confer with marketing and sale departments to define client requirements and expectations.
    • Create and implement inspections and testing criteria or procedures.
    • Direct the tracking of defects, test results, or other regularly reported quality control data.
    • Document testing procedures, methodologies, or criteria.
    • Identify critical points in the construction process and specify sampling procedures to be used at these points.
    • Identify quality problems or areas for improvement and recommend solutions.
    • Instruct staff in quality control and analytical procedures.
    • Instruct vendors or contractors on quality guidelines, testing procedures, or ways to eliminate deficiencies.
    • Produce reports regarding nonconformance of products or processes, daily production quality, root cause analyses, or quality trends.
    • Review and update standard operating procedures or quality assurance manuals.
    • Review quality documentation necessary for regulatory submissions and inspections.
    • Verify that raw materials, purchased parts or components, in-process samples, and finished products meet established testing and inspection standards.
    • Collect and analyze material samples to evaluate quality.
    • Evaluate new testing and sampling methodologies or technologies to determine usefulness.
    • Generate and maintain quality control operating budgets.
    • Review and approve quality plans submitted by contractors.
    • Stop production if serious product defects are present.
    • Maintain and insure all employees and visitors adhere to the PKS Site Safety and Health Plan, Environmental Protection Plan, Accident Prevention Plan, Activity Hazard Analysis and Construction Quality Control Plan.

    SKILLS & ABILITIES:
    • Education: High School diploma with related field experience
    • Experience: Minimum 10 years related construction field experience with minimum 5 years on Federal projects
    • Current or prior Corps of Engineers quality control certification
    • Knowledge of Corps of Engineers safety programs and procedures
    • The ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate with others a must.
    • A thorough understanding of all Federal and company regulations is required.
    • Enthusiasm for challenge and new initiatives are prerequisites.
