Job Summary
Taurus Power and Controls - a Pacific Northern Environmental LLC Company, is seeking a Accounting & Front Office Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced, team environment and has the ability to provide exceptional service to our company, clients, and employees.
Pacific Northern Environmental, LLC consists of five divisions including Advanced Electrical Technologies (AET), Taurus Power and Controls (Taurus), Cowlitz Clean Sweep (CCS), Pacific Northern Environmental Construction (PNEC), and WasteXpress Environmental (WXE). Together, we specialize in commercial and petroleum construction, industrial and commercial electrical, industrial cleaning, and hazardous waste disposal. PNE LLC is a multi-state organization with operating offices in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Hawaii. In addition, we carry out projects across the United States.
Since 1985, Taurus has been designing control systems, automating tasks, and fabricating control panels for industrial, municipal, and commercial customers-on time and on budget. Taurus is a NETA Accredited Company that offers full-service, third party, independent testing for all electrically powered systems and equipment. Being a 24/7 field service company remains at the core of what we do. We have expertise in a wide array of systems and industries, whether it's servicing projects we developed, or systems built by others.
The Accounting & Front Office Specialist is responsible for supporting daily front office operations while performing higher-level accounting and administrative functions. This role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to manage accounting responsibilities while serving as a professional first point of contact for the organization.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and experience in accounting support functions, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced office environment.
Education and Experience Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license and ability to be insured under the company's vehicle insurance policy preferred.
- 4+ years of strong experience in accounting support and office administration.
- Experience with accounting software and job costing systems required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and accounting software with a basic understanding of accounting functions.
- Customer service experience and strong problem-solving abilities required.
- Must be detailed oriented and set high standards for accuracy.
- Previous experience with common office equipment, such as a multi-line phone system and copy machine.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Accounting & Front Office Specialist possessing the education and experience listed above performs the following:
- Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, clients, and vendors; maintaining a professional and welcoming front desk presence.
- Provide general administrative support as needed.
- Process and reconcile company credit card transactions in accordance with company policies.
- Enter job and project information accurately into accounting and job costing systems.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including processing and payment tracking.
- Assist with account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with month-end close activities and reporting as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial, employee, and company information.
- Follow internal controls related to financial transactions and recordkeeping.
- Support audits and internal reviews as needed.
- Answer, screen, and route incoming calls and emails.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, deliveries, and office supplies.
- Maintain a clean, organized front office and reception area.
- Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
The candidate must possess and be adaptable to the following physical abilities and working conditions:
- Move about the office as needed.
- Move work related equipment up to 10lbs.
- Remain in a stationary position for long periods of time.
- Operate various technological devices, including but not limited to a computer.
- Occasionally ascend/descend stairs.
- Full-time, Monday through Friday.
- In-Office Position in Tualatin, OR
