    Durable Guardian products are utilized in key industries including mobile hydraulics, farm & ag, tree care, concrete, food & beverage, material handling, automation, power generation, and oil & gas on applications such as skid steers, aerial lifts, harvesters, wood chippers, concrete pumps, dewatering pumps, baggage handlers, conveyors, robotics, compressors, and generator sets.

    **Job Description**

    **SUMMARY**

    The Buyer/Planner will mainly be responsible for establishing and managing contracts with key suppliers. Additionally, the Buyer will develop cost saving sourcing strategies to leverage total spend. Will review total cost of ownership of materials. Manage all material functions including purchasing, production, scheduling, inventory control and global sourcing. Compiles information and records to prepare purchase and work orders by performing essential duties.

    **Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

    Work extensively within SAP and other tools to place and procure materials to support production.

    Analyze the requirements on finished goods, prioritize shipments from suppliers, and dates materials are needed.

    Lead and develop planning processes that supports all value streams.

    Negotiate with suppliers using fact-based data and support the materials manager with executing long term supplier agreements that comply with corporate regulations.

    Collect, prepare, and analyze market trends to develop strategic sourcing process.

    Support the materials manager in defining and implementing a strategic sourcing process to meet internal needs, while obtaining maximum value from suppliers.

    Track KPI performance and other performance metrics, review variances with materials manager.

    Generate cost savings opportunities, ensure successful delivery of opportunities, and report against status to Materials Manager.

    Support cost reduction activities including cost analysis, VA/VE and resourcing.

    Issue RFQs to vendors and follow up as needed via email and phone call.

    Confers with suppliers concerning late deliveries.

    Proactively monitor leading indicators for potential supply disruptions to fulfill operational needs and work to resolve in a timely manner.

    Compares prices, specifications, and delivery dates and awards contract to bidders or places orders with suppliers or mail order firms.

    Work with project teams to ensure suppliers understand company requirements and deliverables; report on material readiness to support project lead times.

    Assists in reconciling purchase and accounts payable variances with vendors and accounts payable.

    Issue work orders to the production floor in accordance to manufacturing lead times and customer expected delivery date.

    Schedule cell areas with the Value Steam Manager and Team Lead.

    Report production delays and material issues.

    Issue Sub contractual l and External processed purchase orders tied to work orders.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Willing and able to occasionally travel domestically for supplier visits and training opportunities.

    **Job Requirements**

    **Education and Experience Requirements**

    BA/BS Degree in Materials or Business Management or equivalent combination of experience and education.

    2 years experience planning in a manufacturing environment.
