Duties/Responsibilities Safely set up and operate welding machines and other shop equipment Expertly weld small, medium and large various metals Must be able to read and comprehend blueprints Lay out, position, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler Bolts, Clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring instruments Remove rough spots from from workpiece, using portable grinder, hand file or scraper Weld components in flat or vertical positions Check parts to ensure they are meeting the company's standards before moving to the next department Performs other related duties as assigned required-skills: Required Skills/Abilities Mig Welding Tig Welding Vertical and horizontal welds Blueprint reading Ability to stand for 8-12 hours Ability to lift 25+ lbs
