The Mopar Exterior Product Engineer will lead the Design, Development, and Release of exterior features and accessories for our Stellantis vehicle customers. The Mopar Accessories Team creates upfit and aftermarket products for all Stellantis vehicle brands and models, including Jeep, RAM, Dodge, Chrysler and more. This is an exciting role in need of someone with a diverse set of interests and skills.

Mopar has a broad portfolio of future products planned which will need a good engineer with a knowledge of vehicle design, materials, and processes. Some of these products include Side Steps, Roll Bars, Rock Slide Rails, Cargo Storage Solutions, and Special Model Badging. We are looking for an Engineer to join our team to help develop the next generation of vehicle accessories.

Responsibilities:

• Working with brand planning and strategy teams on new feature ideas.
• Initial design and feasibility studies with Exterior Product teams, Vehicle Integration, and Product Design Office.
• Create Source Package documents.
• Support Mopar Purchasing to review technical submissions from suppliers and select a supplier.
• Support component supplier development activities as needed.
• Lead vehicle test and validation based on vehicle and component DVP validation.
• Host weekly engineering development meetings with suppliers and Mopar team members.
• Track and manage deliverables for on-time launch.
• Manage and track releasing and changes of vehicle exterior parts such as bumpers, spoilers, exterior mirrors, air deflectors for doors, emblems, and logos.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of metallic and plastic parts – part design, manufacturing process, and material selection is required.
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree required.
