    Meat Clerk Job Description

    We are seeking a friendly and sales-minded Meat Clerk to work within our meat department. This role involves weighing, wrapping, and pricing meat for customers, as well as providing excellent customer service.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide customers with helpful and prompt service
    • Drive department sales growth through suggestive selling
    • Maintain NFI Sanitation and refrigeration standards
    • Prepare and display product quality and appearance
    • Develop product knowledge, including cooking methods, recipes, and signature items
    • Perform opening and closing procedures to NFI standards
    • Maintain ordering and receiving standards
    • Work within company programs, policies, and procedures

    Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information
    • Ability to write reports and business correspondence
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Food Handler's Certification (as required by State Law)
    • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds frequently
    • Ability to stand for long periods and move quickly in a fast-paced environment

    Salary Range:

    $35,000 - $50,000 per year
