    Job Description

    JOB TITLE: Strategic Quote Leader

    DEPARTMENT: Estimating

    REPORTING TO: VP Strategic Quoting

    PRIMARY FUNCTION OF POSITION:

    The Strategic Quote Leader is the technical and financial expert dedicated to a strategic customer. This role will coordinate with the Business, Operations Engineering, Estimation, and Supply Chain teams to generate profitable, accurate and timely proposals to a strategic customer within the Semicon industry. The Strategic Quote Leader will use their technical, finance and operational knowledge to complete competitive quotes to support Libra business proposals.

    DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
    • Complete detailed cost models for each quote, ensuring correct processes and content are applied. Work and review with applicable resources.
    • Follow all necessary internal documented processes for quote completion
    • Build relationship with key customer contacts
    • Detailed technical review of customer documentation as necessary
    • Build and manage relationships with all other applicable company depts.
    • Manage multiple resources across manufacturing divisions to provide vertically integrates solutions
    • Manage and provide key metrics for benchmarking and continuous improvement
    • Engage in a weekly team communication forum to exchange ideas and information
    • Supervise preparation of supplier RFQ packages and solicitation of quotes from the supply base
    • Maintain relationships with Libra supply base
    • Support Commodity Management by maintaining knowledge of suppliers for custom mechanical commodities
    • Provide feedback to (and receives input from) Quote Manager, Quote Analysts and Regional Commodity Managers regarding potential new suppliers to be included in quoting activities
    • Maintain record of supplier quote performance - accuracy, timeliness, responsiveness, cost
    • Obtain feedback for customer proposals and identify changes in process, tools and execution to improve future submissions
    • Perform other special projects for Quote Manager as necessary
    • Manage monetary recoveries through pricing
    • Development and execution of yearly price update strategy
    • Identify and execute cost reduction opportunities with Supply Chain
    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
    • Bachelors of Mechanical Engineering preferred
    • Mechanical cost model experience
    SKILLS/EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
    • Knowledge in Mechanical, Sheet metal, Fabrication, Machining, Welding, System Integration Manufacturing and Electronics
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
    • Customer facing experience required
    WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    • This positon will work in both front and shop environments.
    • In the shop, you will be exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, machines, and material handling vehicles. PPE is required in this shop area.
    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    • While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to have good hearing and sight.
    • You will need to be able to walk the shop floor and be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
