    Job Description:

    The General Dentist provides comprehensive oral healthcare services to adult and pediatric patients in a community health center setting.

    • Perform comprehensive dental examinations, diagnoses, and treatment planning
    • Provide a full scope of general dentistry services including preventive care (cleanings, fluoride sealants), restorative dentistry (fillings crowns) simple surgical extractions endodontic limited prosthodontic procedures as appropriate manage dental emergencies urgent care needs deliver care in accordance with evidence-based clinical standards FQHC guidelines
    • Educate patients on oral hygiene disease prevention treatment options promote patient understanding compliance long-term oral health provide compassionate trauma-informed culturally sensitive care work closely with dental hygienists assistants front-office staff collaborate medical behavioral health providers integrated team participate outreach school programs assigned maintain timely accurate documentation electronic record comply HRSA OSHA CDC Ohio Dental Practice Act requirements adhere infection control sterilization safety protocols participate quality improvement initiatives peer review performance activities require qualifications DDS DMD accredited school current eligible Ohio license DEA registration CPR certification commitment underserved diverse populations preferred prior experience FQHC public health similar settings treating Medicaid uninsured populations familiarity electronic records quality reporting interest community outreach preventive dentistry competitive salary commensurate NHSC Loan Repayment Program eligibility benefits package include paid time off holidays continuing education allowance CE malpractice insurance retirement plan mission-driven supportive environment lasting impact focused practice
