Job summary
The Lead Poisoning Surveillance and Outreach Epidemiologist will provide communicable disease and environmental health services applying the principles of epidemiology and biostatistics in case-finding assessment epidemiological determination planning intervention to mitigate prevent poor outcomes related to lead poisoning.This position will work alongside other Disease Control Health Protection Programs community partners regarding data collection analysis outreach communication of findings.
Responsibilities include investigation data entry follow-up for the prevention control of lead poisoning other environmental health concerns reportable diseases foodborne waterborne illnesses general infectious diseases.
- Performs daily surveillance data analysis management using ESSENCE Merlin data systems databases as needed.
- Follow up on all Electronic Laboratory Reports ELR faxed reports within assigned zip code including collecting basic demographics clinical information suspected cases confirming diagnosis determining probable source infection mode transmission extent spread recommending appropriate control measures.
