    OVERVIEW:
    Supervise the day-to-day maintenance operations at the Buffalo NRO with 10-12 direct reports.

    Drive the success of the site reliability program by effectively supervising the technicians, assigning planned work tasks, and recognizing and implementing improvements for the facility.

    Lead by example, promoting a culture of Safety & Reliability. This is an active role on the plant floor, with about a 70% plant floor / 30% office balance.

    In this role, you must be comfortable with leading daily & weekly meetings with the maintenance team, reporting out daily on maintenance activities in a formal setting, and working with all members of operations leadership to complete daily tasks and projects.

    The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail oriented, and an excellent communicator.


    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Supervise, direct, coach and assign work to 10-12 maintenance technicians, across 3 shifts
    • Ensure maintenance technicians have appropriate resources to complete their task in a timely manner
    • Schedule & approve timekeeping for maintenance technicians, including review of vacation requests & maintain accurate vacation calendar for maintenance technicians
    • Conduct required trainings with Maintenance technicians
    • Have availability to adjust schedule to work off-shift hours periodically to work with off shift maintenance technicians.
    • Maintain good employee relations, morale, and discipline in shop and initiate corrective actions when required
    • Follow up on assigned work to confirm proper completion of work and documentation
    • Escalate situations as needed
    • Conduct root cause analysis safety investigations following any maintenance technician injury or reported near miss
    • Maintain organized equipment records on all equipment and company property, such that OEM documents are readily available for maintenance technicians when needed
    • Active participant providing feedback and input in the planning and scheduling of work to be done by either plant personnel or outside contractors
    • Partner with the maintenance planner and storeroom personnel to ensure maintenance materials inventory is accurate and available
    • Provide feedback to maintenance planner on planned work and recommend improvements to achieve reliability targets
    • Actively participate in Safety, Food Safety, and CI activities
    • Assists with supervising contractors on site completing planned work, projects, or emergency repairs
    • Work effectively and ensure that food safety, authenticity, legality, and quality are maintained.
    • Report any risks or any evidence of unsafe or out-of-specification product, equipment, packaging or raw materials, to a designated manager to enable the resolution of issues requiring immediate action.
    EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCES


    • 5+ years of Mechanical Maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing facility.
    • 3+ years of supervisory experience on a maintenance team in a manufacturing or similar operation preferred
    • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering technology, or related discipline from accredited university preferred.
    ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)


    • Must be able to demonstrate a strong mechanical and electrical technical skillset
    • General knowledge of Welding, Plumbing, Commercial electrical, Electrical engineering, and controls preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to coach and train employees in a team based environment
    • Strong computer skills: Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook are required
    • Some CMMS platform (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards or similar) is preferred
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Proven ability to Lead, Supervise, and make decisions
    • Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed
    • Industrial food processing experience preferred
    • Desire for growth within the organization

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Requires the ability to unassisted lift 50 lbs maximum
    • Requires ability to use a keyboard, monitor and calculator
    • Requires the ability to communicate verbally, both in person and on the telephone

    LOCATION:

    • Buffalo, NY

    COMPENSATION:

    • The expected pay range for this position is $67,000-$124,000 and will depend on the candidate's qualifications and prior experience.
