- Conduct audits, evaluations and special reviews in accordance with generally accepted government auditing standards and generally accepted accounting principles issued by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and/or U.S. Government auditing standards and policies and Council of Integrity and Government Efficiency (CIGIE) Quality Standards for Auditing.
- Perform, evaluate and write reports on audits, evaluations and special reviews of awardee/contractor financial integrity, compliance with NEA and Federal requirements, economy and efficiency of operations, and program results.
- Evaluate corrective actions taken by NEA awardees, contractors, and the NEA in response to audit and evaluation recommendations.
- Interpret agency policies and provisions to the development of audit/evaluation/special review procedures, instructions, work plans and schedules. Expands or contracts audit/evaluation/special review programs as a result of initial findings.
