    Position Summary

    The successful candidate will work within the Food and Beverage program in a corporate setting, ensuring quality customer service with onsite catered events. The Catering Manager will ensure the smooth operation and integration of all drop off catering and full service catered events within the facility. This position will provide customers with consistency and reliability when planning events from initial contact through post-event correspondence.

    Essential Functions:

    I. Planning
    • Work with internal clients to plan a wide range of catered services within prescribed budgets.
    • Manage the flow of event planning with clients, following prescribed policies and protocol.
    • Respond to client inquiries in an enthusiastic and timely manner.
    • Anticipate catering needs by monitoring room reservation reports from EMS software and reach out to clients in a timely manner to expedite the planning process.
    • Develop thorough understanding of catering menu and pricing.
    • Work with Culinary team to develop creative menus and product offerings.
    • Attend walkthroughs with clients and Account Manager as needed.
    • Provide excellent customer service at all times.
    • Provide excellent communication through both verbal and written means.
    • Present a professional demeanor that communicates a corporate philosophy of service, goodwill, and genuine interest in each individual clients needs.
    • Provide recommendations to enhance processes and create efficiencies.
    II. Producing
    • Process catering orders and communicate pertinent information to all relevant internal and client teams.
    • Manage event production to include but not limited to; proposal writing, menu development, equipment and logistics, and CaterXpert data management and profitability goals.
    • Partner with Operations and Service Departments to ensure events are correctly prepared for and executed.
    • Attend Blue Plate's bi-weekly production meetings to review upcoming events as required.
    • Attend weekly meetings with client and internal facilities team to discuss upcoming events as required.
    • Generate menu signage for full service events.
    • Create Event Supervisor Packs for full service events.
    • Develop thorough understanding of in-house equipment, linen, and procedures.
    • Work with outside vendors to source rental equipment and linen when necessary.
    III. Event Execution
    • Attend full service events and ensure that client's needs are met.
    • Assist in the execution and service of all types of events as needed.
    • Process and communicate last minute changes from clients as needed.
    • Work with the Account Manager in all aspects of providing great products and services.
    • Follow up with clients post-event and obtain event feedback
    IV. Billing
    • Coordinate with Accounting/Billing Department to ensure compilation of accurate final billing and the collection of accounts receivables.
    • Establish and maintain strong, productive, and positive working relationships with a wide range of people including clients, vendors, event staff and colleagues.
    • Maintain an exemplary level of confidentiality when dealing with sensitive issues.
    Requirements

    Education and Experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
    • Associate's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality or related industry. Bachelor's degree preferred.
    • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience within the hospitality industry that includes quantifiable success within an event planning or production role.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of catering and event operations.
    • General interest in food, menu design, and event development.

    • Strong computer skills that include proficiency with MS Office and Google applications, Catering and CRM software.
    • Local travel is required. Previous catering experience in a full service catering operation.
    Language Skills
    • Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently. Bilingual skills preferred.

    • At times, may require more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position.
    • Fine hand manipulation (keyboarding).
